Standing On The Paper & Lava River

               After out second semester we had ppd section with great team work activity which gave lots of experience and intrest in personel development section. At the first day of ppd session of our second semester ppd madam gave two activity the first one she gave is Standing On Paper and second activity is Lava River .I like to share something about it

STANDING ON PAPER

In this Activity at first mam seperated us into three individual teams which is consists of 7 members but only my team consists 8 member iam in group one. Mam gave a newspapers one sided size paper and said to when she gives command "IN" all the group members should be inside the paper that she gave and when she say "OUT" all should stand out side the paper and the team which is not obeying her command will be out of game she said and also she said we should stand on the paper without tearing it. She gave two minutes and said discuss how to stand on paper.

                               HA HA that would be reaction because we also not took serious why we should discuss to stand on paper which is comfortabily enough for 8 members thats right after this mam said is shocked. I think you have guessed mam said to fold that paper into half and asked to stand their. like wise if a team did it correctly then the paper again again asked to fold and the team which stand correctly as much as possible it will be the winner and the third group was the winner in this activity. Our team could not stand on.


The mistakes which the groups made was:

• Didn't had the correct strategy.
• Didn't expect that our madam told us to fold the paper.
• haven't proper communication.
• Didn't use the time that mam gave to plan.
• Didn't considered about team mates comfort.

What We Learnt From This Activity??:

• We want to have a proper strategy before we going to start a work.
• We should ready for unexpected.
• We want to communicate clearly.
• We want to be alert at any time and ready to face.
• We should use the time correctly with team mates.
• We should consider all people in the team their comfort what the can.

the thing we learned is teamwork should have good plan.

LAVA RIVER

After the activity Standing On The paper on that day we did Lava River as second activity.

Mam changed some members between teams again maintained three teams with seven members and my team remind 8 members.She gave 4 paper plates for every team and said to all members of the team should cross the two lines with using that 4 plates only should not touch on the floor and we should not miss the plates.The distance between two lines aproximatley 5m to 6m.

We just planned to every one use two plates to cross so two members cross the river and one bring bring two plates of the team by droping other one. Unfortunatley our team lost two plates because of floor stickyness.




After crossing one side mam set a time limit of 5 minutes and said to cross the river by team.We should not understand at first she said all members should be in touch cannot go individually and marked some points on floor if we touch that it will be bonus she said. 
   The problem is we only my team had two plates and other teams had their full 4 plates.we asked it is not possible give us 2 plates mam strickly said no and i asked "mam can we tear 2 plates into 4 and use" mam said no. So we are failed. After this mam said why dont u argued with me for to tear haa haa.
     In this activity no team went to the other side of the river with in time..

What we learned is:

• It is very easy to move individually and hard to move as team.
• Wants to clear the idea of the instructions carefully.
• Resource management.
• Time management.
• Leadership quality.
• Never ever give up until reach the target.
• All the time aware of external factors(because of stickiness of floor we lossed 2 plates)

On that day these two activity gave lots of enjoyment and trained how to work as team and what should do and what should not. Realy good experience...
